Keeping Your Bedroom Smelling Fresh & Relaxing

An unpleasant smelling bedroom is wholly uninviting and, since we spend a significant number of hours there everyday, it is important to keep its fragrance fresh and clean.

There is indeed so much on the market these days to eradicate nasty smells and these, coupled with a few basic tips, will ensure a sweet smelling room at all times.
1) For starters, always ensure that you leave your bedroom window open. The circulation of incoming fresh air is the most effective and natural way to maintain a pleasant smell. Sleeping with your window open is not only beneficial for you but also the air flow in your room. If, however, you can not sleep with the window open, simply leave it open for a few hours during the day.
2) Very often our sheets and bedding emit a musty, stale scent upon rising in the morning. Do not make the bed straight away, for this allows the smell to fester. Instead, let the bedding air for a few hours to release the bad odors from the sheets.
3) Most of us are guilty of it but try to avoid leaving old food plates and mugs in the bedroom, before long they will start to pong. In addition make sure you never dispose of fruit such as bananas in your bedroom bin as they have the power to really create a distasteful stench.
4) Wash your bedding regularly, at least twice a month to ensure it remains fresh and fragrant. If you have curtains wash those too on occasion because if left dirty they can certainly contribute to a bad smelling room.
5) I love scented bags of lavender or pot pouri designed for your drawers to keep them fresh. You can also buy aromatic decorative cushions to place on your bed which give off a floral lingering scent.
6) Pot pouri can be dispersed into an attractive bowl which not only serves to make the room smell agreeable but also is very aesthetically pleasing too.

7) Air fresheners have come a long way, in fact we now have the likes of Oust which is an air sanitizer, effectively eliminating airborne odor causing bacteria. It is an ideal tool designed to make any room smell delightful.
8) Fabric fresheners are also very popular. Febreze is probably the best known brand and works to eradicate odors from fabrics such as bedding and curtains leaving a light, fresh scent. A few squirts is all that is required to really improve the aroma of a bedroom.

9) Scented candles are a favorite of mine, especially in the bedroom. You can create a romantic setting and, most importantly, the streams of subtle smoke sent out spread a clean, delicious scent floating around the room.
The implementation of these suggestions will turn any foul-smelling bedroom into a fragrant paradise. Our sense of smell is a very sensitive and thus a fresh smelling room can make all the difference in ensuring our bedroom is a haven to wile away many happy hours in.
